Wound Care

Here at Ridgeview, we feel very strongly that all wounds should be treated aggressively in order to heal more quickly. Our wound care policy has been constructed of time tested, proven products that are aimed at getting short term residents home in a timely manner and to prevent our long term residents from developing pressure areas. We are constantly looking for new and improved products to assist us in our goals.

We are the only facility in the area to offer Hyperbaric Oxygen for wound healing, along with being the first facility to use Wound Vac System on stage III and IV wounds, With a 100% healing rate when using the Wound Vac our facility is the place to come for superior wound care. Referrals come from throughout Pennsylvania from Hospitals looking to place residents with major or minor wound ulcers knowing that we accept even the most difficult to heal wounds. All of which have been discharged home after healing their previously impossible to heal wounds.

Our Nursing staff works closely with our dietician to provide added Protein and vitamins to insure a residents healing potential is adequate to promote tissue regrowth. Giving these residents Fortified foods and health shakes, vitamins with zinc and a product called LPS 15/30, used in conjunction with our wound care products, we are insuring that our residents are provided every possible need for promoting wound healing.

Meetings are held on a weekly basis by our Wound Committee to discuss each wounds' improvement or decline, possible additions to dietary needs, Lab results, need for changing treatment regimes, etc. Evaluation of each wound is done weekly prior to the Committee meetings.
